If you have any further questions about our range of urbanpods, or our Bespoke design services that are not covered in the FAQs below do not hesitate to get in touch
How long will you need access to my site?
This is entirely dependent on the size of the Pod. We will always aim to undertake as much work as possible in the workshop to reduce the time required and impact on your site. We will typically be on site between 1 and 2 weeks.
When will I get my pod?
Our lead times vary, so for current timescales get in touch. However, depending on the size of your urbanpod, from at the point of the order being placed and completion on site, the total time is around 4-6 weeks.
Can you supply services to my pod?
It is usually possible to link up water, electricity, telecoms, and drainage. We will arrange a site survey prior to delivery of your Pod and provide you with a quote for installation of services.
Can the pod be relocated or extended?
Urbanpods can be dismantled and relocated, you can take your pod that you have grown to love to a new location. However, there will be remedial work required, typically wall linings and internal finishes. For idea on cost, please call or email our sales team for more information.
The Cucina pod, is fully deconstruct able, the pod is designed to be built and deconstructed many times over. However, we do like to know this at the time of purchase.
What is your delivery and installation catchment?
Delivery is free within a 20mile radius of our head office in West Lothian. Please call our sales team or email for more information should you reside further afield.
Is my pod guaranteed?
All our Garden and Office Pods are designed and engineered to comply with current building regulations. For your assurance your pod will come with a five year guarantee on the structural and waterproof integrity as standard. Fixtures and fittings are guaranteed for 12 months or for the manufacturer’s warranty. Correctly maintained, your Pod should last with minimal maintenance for several decades. Our single ply EPDM membrane comes with a standard manufacturer guarantee of 25 years, however the home owner is required to carry out periodic checks over its lifespan.
What are the advantages of an urbanpod over a traditional brick construction?
Our urbanpods are designed with the natural environment in mind so the materials we use will complement their surrounding space rather than imposing on it. Our Pods are usually detached spaces rather than extensions so if yours is a Garden Pod then it will be a definable separate space away from the house. As we use a pre-fabricated modular system they also offer the advantage of being much quicker to install on site.
With ever increasing costs within our economy and rates continuing on the rose, we have identified that a garden pod can be 50% cheaper than creating an extension to your home, this is primarily down to dead costs associated with home extensions, council fees, architectural and structural fee’s, complications with build on site, vast array of building materials to achieve the required thermal values and secondary block work or brickwork skin which isn’t required with a timber clad garden pod.
Can my Pod be customised for me?
All of our Garden and Office Pods can be customised to your individual requirements so if the existing position of windows and doors don’t quite suit your site we can alter them to make the best use of the light and views. We can even design a completely bespoke Pod to the exact dimensions and layout that you have in mind. If you want something completely different urbanpods experienced design team are happy to discuss your requirements.
